Kids!
After-school sewing - Requested change of day to Friday – There has been a request to change this to a Friday class, to reduce the stress of busy homework and other commitments in people’s schedules, and to make it a parent/youth class. Any feedback? Class would begin 1/13/2012.
Kids Can Sew! Summer sewing camp – I will be offering a summer sewing camp for kids this summer. I looks like it will be the second week of August. The class will be for both kids new to sewing and for returning students. New students will learn basic sewing machine use, and to make clothing and/or home decor items using commercial patterns. Returning students will be given a refresher in machine use if needed, and then will jump right in with a project from a commercial pattern. Returning students should contact me about what projects they would like to produce during this session.
Class meets from 9 am – noon Monday – Friday Class Fee: $200.00 Materials provided for the first day of class.
All Parents: Please review the “Policy” page prior to registration. I know that kids are busy, but when you sign them up, we already know they will be dealing with homework, and other outside commitments. Class fees are lower than private lesson fees, and as a result cannot be made up as a part of the original fee. Parents may book a one hour private lesson at $40/hr. to make up a missed Class.

Hi Pam,
It’s on the schedule, but as of now, I don’t have anyone registered.
If you know of at least one other student who will take the class, we can do it.

My 7 year old daughter would love to participate in the Christmas sewing class. How do we register? If there are not enough people for a full class, can we arrange private lessons, shorter class, same basic time frame?
I’m glad to hear that she is interested.
Currently, I don’t have a “kids registration form”, but you can print the Stillman Registration form attached, and send it in, with a check to register her. She will be the first registrant, and yes, if the class doesn’t ‘make’, I do offer private lessons.
We generally have a great time in these classes.

We are planning our 2011 summer camps. We would be looking for a one morning visit where kids could make and take something with them. Would this be possible and if so, what would the cost be per child. Thanks so much. Randee
Randee,
Not knowing where or when your camp is located, I couldn’t speculate.
If you can offer me more details, like the #of kids, ages, location of the camp, whether I pay for supplies, or whether the supplies are provided, whether you want a handsewn, or machine sewn project, I can more appropriately answer your question. Please visit the “Contact” page, and e-mail me.
Thanks and I hope to be of help.

Interested in summer camp sewing class, making a pillowcase. Is this possible?
Wanda,
I’ve been out of state for months. I’m back for the summer. Please check out the class/lessons/workshop offerings for learning to sew.
Classes are now taught out of my home, in Goochland though.
