The current projects
Currently, I’m working on a dress for the mother-of-the-groom for a Sept wedding. Love the fabric, and the pattern.
Here is the latest of the dresses for the kids in Kenya. WE did 4 of this dress on Sat. I love the sunflowers.
Then, here is the sundress that the Monday night ladies have been doing. It wasn’t a perfect beginner pattern, but the dresses are turning out to be nicely made. They do however each need to be altered to fit the individual. This is a vintage pattern available online. My concern with some of these older patterns, is that I was walking this earth when a lot of them were being used, and home-made clothes looked “home-made”. If you consider buying a pattern without a photograph of someone in the finished product, make a muslin before investing in nice fabric, or before getting really emotionally invested in the dress. Often, they don’t look like the picture shows. The picture for this dress showed the model with a comparative waist of 13″ or so, with a comparative bust of about 38″. It doesn’t look like that on the beautiful, but slight ladies in the Monday night class.
Just like every dress in the store doesn’t look good on every figure-type, patterns will produce a variety of looks on different body types. Be wise, as you choose your patterns.
That about covers it for today, I need to get back to the cutting table.
See you later and I’d love to hear from you.
