Sewing classes for January of 2011 in Richmond, VA

December 27, 2010

There are several sewing class times available in January.

For beginners, there is the Monday evening class, beginning on Jan 10. It is nearly full, but you may contact me to see if there are openings. In that class, we will make a double drawstring bag, and a pair of pajamas. This is a beginners class that will focus on apparel construction and use of the sewing machine.

There are also  beginners classes that begin on Thursday 1/6.  One meets in the mornings from 9 am – 11:30, and the other meets on Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. These classes are yet not ‘committed’ as either apparel, or home decor, so let me know what you want to do, and which class works for you and we will see what we can do.

There is an intermediate class on Tuesday evenings that is filling up fast. We are focusing on sewing skirts and sundresses. The lessons are darts, zippers, waistbands and blind hemming vs. hemming by hand. We do focus also on seam finishes. If the class fills, or you can’t do this time, let me know what day/time works for you, and we can build another class from the wait-list. Or you can book private lessons.

Private sewing lessons are frequently available. Check to see if we can work something out that fits your schedule. The studio will be closing April 1 for an entire year, so please, let’s try to help you sew before I close.
