Winter sewing camp for kids

December 30, 2010

The sewing camp kids are having a blast, and are so much fun for me. The kids LOVE sewing;0D Tomorrow, we have wind up with our final morning class, and 2 students, who couldn’t make it to class Monday because of the snow, have a make-up class in the afternoon. We are also walking over to the chinese restaurant next door for lunch.

One student has her great-grandmother’s sewing machine. It still works like a charm and is beautiful. She, however, wants a more contemporary machine and has saved up the money to go buy it. AND, she is only 7. What an inspiration, don’t you think?

I’m so fortunate to work with young people. Fortunate to introduce them to an activity that has been an integral part of my creative expression, and the a huge part of what’s “fulfilling” in my life.
