Winding down – closing studio – last projects

March 16, 2011

That about says it all.  I’m winding down, teaching the last 4-6 classes and lessons, over the next 7 days, and closing the studio. Last night, the students were making some very educational projects. One is making round cushions for her outdoor furniture. It’s been a great teaching tool. Here are more of the pictures of this project in progress:

After making the muslin of this project, we decided that a zippered cushion cover would mean less hand-sewing, and that’s where she chose to go with this. It’s challenging work, though!

The other student is working on a very light weight knit dress. I hate sewing knit fabric, but she is doing a great job. These two students have learned quickly, taken on challenging projects, and really accomplished a lot in their time in the studio! I’m very proud of them.

I’m definitely going to miss my students as I’m traveling. And will look forward to having a few specialty clinics when I’m back, briefly in July.
